Steak Strips and Mushroom Sauce

Ingredient List (Steak):

500 grams of steak, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons of olive oil

Ingredient List (Mushroom Sauce):

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic, finely grated
250 grams brown mushroom
1/2 salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 to 2 green chilli, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1 cup of milk
1 tablespoon cornflour/maizena

Method (Steak):

Step 1: Rub the salt and pepper all over the steak pieces.
Step 2: Place a pan over a high heat.
Step 3: Add oil.
Step 4: Add steak and fry/grill for 3 to 4 minutes or until the steak is cooked to your liking.

Method (Mushroom Sauce):
Step 1: Add oil to a small saucepan.
Step 2: Add mushrooms, garlic, salt and pepper.
Step 3: Mix well and cook for 5 minutes or until the mushrooms are soft. Cook with a covered lid.
Step 4: Add chilli and parsley and mix.
Step 5: In a separate bowl, add maizena and milk.
Step 6: Mix gently until the maizena is fully mixed into the milk.
Step 7: Add the milk and maizena mixture to the mushrooms and cook over a low heat for 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
Step 8: Pour the hot sauce over the steak.

Enjoy with your favourite greens or fries.
