Masala Steak Sandwiches

Ingredient List:

400 grams steak, cut into thin slices

1 teaspoon garam masala

1 teaspoon garlic, finely grated

1 teaspoon chilli powder

1 teaspoon barbeque spice

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 tablespoons tomato sauce

2 tablespoons plain yoghurt

3 tablespoons oil

1 medium onion

15 grams coriander, finely chopped

1/2 cup of water

1 small cucumber, cut into rings

20 grams lettuce/baby spinach

1/2 red onion, finely sliced

1/4 cup Mrs Balls chutney

8 slices brown seeded bread

Method: 

Step 1: Cut steak into thin slices then marinate in all ground spices, salt, pepper, yoghurt and tomato sauce.

Step 2: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Step 3: On a medium heat, place a medium sized pot and add oil.

Step 4: Add onion and sauté till light brown. 

Step 5: Add steak and 1/4 cup of water. Cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes. 

Step 6: Add coriander and the rest of the water and cook for another 20 minutes or until steak is soft..

Step 7: In a pan, toast bread with a little bit of butter. Repeat this with all of the bread. 

Step 9: Add steak, lettuce, red onion and Mrs Balls Chutney.

Best served hot with a side salad or fries.
