Gourmet Beef Sausage Rolls

Ingredient List:

500 grams dhania beef sausage

1/2 cup water

2 tablespoons oil

1 brown onion, finely sliced

1/2 red capsicum'/pepper, cut julienne

1/2 green capsicum/pepper, cut julienne

125 grams brown mushrooms, finely sliced

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

8 hot dog rolls, cut open in the middle



Step 1: In a large pan, add sausage and water. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 to 7 minutes on a medium heat.

Step 2: Remove the sausage from the pan and throw out all the liquid.  

Step 3: Return sausage back to the pan with 1 tablespoon of oil and allow the sausage to caramelise on both sides.  

Step 4: Once cooked, remove from the pan, cut into pieces (about the size of the rolls) and set aside. .

Step 5: In a small pot, add 1 tablespoon of oil.

Step 6: Add onion, capsicums and mushrooms and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. 

Step 7: Add salt and pepper, cover with a lid and cook for another 3 minutes.   

Step 8: To assemble your sausage rolls, add sausage followed by the veggies.


Note: If you wish you could a bit of Mrs Balls Chutney for some added flavour but you may find, it's not necessary.
