Chilli Cheeseburgers with Caramelised Onions

Ingredient List:

3 tablespoons cooking oil

1 onion, finely sliced

4 burger patties

4 slices or 2/3 cup grated cheddar cheese

4 hamburger rolls

20 grams lettuce

1 green chilli, finely sliced


Step 1: Start by caramelising the onions. In a small pot, add oil.

Step 2: Once hot, add onions and sauté till onions are light brown in colour.

Step 3: Prepare your patties. I like to fry mine in a little butter and oil for extra flavour.

Step 4: Fry patties for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until caramelised.

Step 5: Once patties are browned on both sides, add a slice of cheese to each patty.

Step 6: Once cheese has melted, remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 7: Assemble your burger by lightly toasting your rolls in a pan. Add lettuce, cheesy patty, caramelised onions and topped it off fresh chilli.

Best served with a side of fries or salad.
